Senior Technical Engineering Advisor
Under the direction of the Board’s Director of Regulatory Affairs, a Senior Technical Advisor will be expected to:
- Provide advisory services including research, analysis, and reports, to the Board on engineering matters related to the provision of least cost, reliable service in an environmentally responsible manner. These include but are not limited to capital expenditures, capital planning, asset performance, system and service reliability, generation planning, conservation and demand management programs, and load forecasting.
- Review and analyze applications and reports to provide advice on various engineering and technical issues relating to the Board’s regulatory mandate.
- Interface with stakeholders including the regulated entities, other regulatory bodies, consultants, government officials, and the general public.
- Review and prepare briefings for the Board.
- Assist in relation to Board orders, reports, and other regulatory documents.
RFP - Engineering Technical Consultant
The range of services to be provided will vary from year to year but will include a core level of activities relating to the Board’s general supervisory role for electric utilities in accordance with the Public Utilities Act. In particular the technical advisor will:
- Undertake research and analysis and provide advice to the Board on a variety of technical maters including capital programs, rate design, safety, reliability and quality of service issues;
- Liaise with senior technical staff of theutilities as required
- Undertake projects related to specific maters before the Board, or with respect to special projects initiated by the Board; and
- Work closely with Board staff, expert consultants engaged by the Board, and others as required.
