James Oxford

Mr. Oxford was appointed to the Board on August 6, 2009 and started in his official capacity as Commissioner on September 7, 2009.

Mr. Oxford retired as the Director of Infrastructure and Public Works with the City of Mount Pearl after serving the Municipality for 35 years. He spent 30 yrs in Senior Management roles developing operating systems, policies, regulations and by-laws for the delivery of a wide variety of services. These include waste management, garbage collection, fleet maintenance, snow clearing, inventory control, street cleaning, disaster planning and a comprehensive plan for police protection.

Mr. Oxford has completed trades and business related programs and numerous courses at several institutions including a four year Mechanical Program at the College of Trades & Technology; Business Finance Courses; IT courses at Memorial University; and several others in areas such as Occupational Health & Safety, Small Fleet Management and Emergency Management courses from the Canadian Emergency Preparedness College at Arnprior, Ontario.

Mr. Oxford is married and has two daughters, one son and seven grandchildren.
