Question: 12
What taxes are included in maximum prices?

Maximum prices for gasoline and diesel motor fuels reflect both federal and provincial taxes, including the provincial fuel tax, federal excise tax, carbon tax and the HST. Maximum prices for heating fuels do not reflect taxation. The 5 cents per litre added to the maximum price of gasoline in October 2020 following the shutdown of the Come by Chance refinery was the result of a change in the wholesale margin and is not taxation.
