Adjustments to maximum prices are suspended on a seasonal basis in most zones in Labrador. These zones are primarily supplied by marine tanker and receive infrequent supply of product, with most product supplied twice a year. For all zones in Labrador, except Zones 13 and 13a, maximum price adjustments are suspended in the fall of the year around the time of the last delivery before winter. In the spring, when ice conditions allow resupply, maximum prices are adjusted and these prices are not adjusted again until the fall, when winter supply takes place.
There has been a seasonal suspension of price adjustments for the winter in Zone 11a (Coastal Labrador South - Tanker Supplied) and Zone 14 (Coastal Labrador North) since price regulation was implemented. This suspension of price adjustments was extended to the other areas, including Zones 10, 11, 11b, and 12 in November of 2020. In addition, in June 2021 a suspension of maximum price adjustments was implemented for the spring/summer season for all of these zones. These changes were made based on the information received from stakeholders in the Labrador Petroleum Products Review.
