The Board of
Commissioners of Public Utilities advises that the public hearing of the application from Hydro for a General Rate
Review
is set to begin, as scheduled, on Monday, September 24, 2001. The hearing will
begin 9:30AM in the Board’s main hearing room, 120 Torbay Road, St.
John’s.
The hearing will
proceed in two phases with the Board hearing direct testimony and evidence in
St. John’s and the hearing of public presentations at scheduled Public
Participation Days in various locations throughout the province, including St.
John’s. Notice of the hearing has been
published in newspapers across the province and contains information on how
interested parties can participate in the process by way of submitting a letter
of comment or making an oral presentation to the Board.
Registered
intervenors in this hearing include Newfoundland Power, Hydro’s Industrial
Customers, the Consumer Advocate, the Town of Labrador City and The Town of
Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Members of the Board considering this application
include Commissioner Don Powell. C.A., Commissioner Darlene Whalen, P. Eng.,
Commissioner Fred Saunders and Commissioner Robert Noseworthy, who will act as
the Chair.
